The app gets the least attention, and is frequently bugged or broken. I've had issues with losing chat, or streams just don't load for me. Prices are higher on the app by a lot, and the latest update forces a "feed" on you that I don't like and want to see gone. Sadly I can't disable it, and it's a mobile only feature. Honestly kind of garbage.

The app was great was for the longest time and the second last update which added different options that allowed chat to be open in a different way along with stream was really cool. However this last update is very bad for me although I do think its pretty amazing. To elaborate, the home page immediately starts a stream in the best possible quality and that is just not feasible for people who are not on wifi or unlimited data. There needs to be a setting to turn down default quality.

The platform has taken to running ads before being able to watch a streamer, every single time you hop to a different channel that you're not subscribed to, an ad runs, the same damned ad will run throughout the stream as well. It's infuriating, I've stopped looking for new, smaller streamers because of the nonstop ads. The only way to remove ads is to get twitch turbo, you're being bullied into paying to remove ads. This platform used to be so good.

The latest update is horrible. The home tab just plays a stream from your follow list upon opening the app, so you just get blasted with whatever twitch decides to put there. On top of that, it seems as if you can no longer have a stream in mini player while in app, so you can no longer watch a stream while trying to do something else in the twitch app. Please revert this update and I'll change my review. If nothing happens soon I'll probably uninstall.

New update = immediate uninstall. I cannot have this autoplay random stuff when it opens. Amongst other negative UI changes that make this much less user friendly than before. It should have stayed closer to how the desktop version looks for ease of use instead of learning a completely different set up. I am extremely displeased with this change.

Update in May 2024 removed the ability to scroll through a quick list of channels with thumbnails. It's much more difficult to find the channel I want to watch now, very user unfriendly. Also, I can no longer find VoDs I've watched recently. And another recent update made the chat display over top stream, no option to display beside it anymore. Stop removing functionality. Very unpleased with recent updates.

Hard downgrade from the previous layout. Previous browsing let you see multiple streams that were up and only played the video, without sound, if you hovered over it. The new home browser is just one stream plastered on your screen with video already running and whatever audio playing and then you go through that same experience over and over because now you have to flip through them one by one.

The Follow page that was just released is absolutely horrendous. It doesn't provide you a list of who's online first; chooses one for you (why?). Now have to navigate to former main menu. Follow list no longer provides a preview of the stream or even the stream title. Gives you no indications of what's actually happening in the game, let alone other broad categories. List is neither alphabetic -or- by viewer count. Oh, and the player doesn't pop out in-app. Revert it to the old list format.

The app is good. I'm used to using the browser version at home, but the app works great. Video is smooth and chat seems to post with little to no delays. I have noticed that every once and a while the subscription bar will pop up as I'm watching a stream, but I'm not sure if that's an issue with my phone or the app. Overall, a good experience that doesn't take away from streams.
