Details

"Sweatcoin" is an innovative health and fitness app that cleverly combines sports with blockchain technology, aiming to motivate users to earn virtual currency - sweatcoins by walking or running. The application has been co-founded by Oleg Fomenko, Anton Derlyatka and Egor Khlemev since 2015. It was not originally based on blockchain, but over time, it incorporated elements of Web3 and launched a code based on NEAR blockchain in 2022.Coin SWEAT.

"Sweatcoin" core functions and mechanisms

Sports rewards: Users can get a certain number of sweatcoins every 1,000 steps they take through daily walking, and the app uses GPS and accelerometer to track outdoor steps.

Redemption system: The sweatcoins accumulated by users can be redeemed for various rewards, including physical goods, services, gift cards, airline points, etc., to encourage users to stay active.

Blockchain transformation: In 2022, Sweatcoin underwent a chain change and introduced the SWEAT token, allowing users to convert old sweatcoins into new tokens. The SWEAT token was listed on multiple exchanges, increasing its liquidity and value potential.

Anti-cheating mechanism: In order to ensure fairness, Sweatcoin does not record indoor sports, and the number of steps may be less than other health applications to reduce cheating.

Community and growth: Sweatcoin quickly accumulated a huge user base. By June 2022, global downloads reached 100 million times, becoming one of the most downloaded health and fitness apps in the first half of the year.

Future plans: Plans to further expand its ecosystem, including adding practical scenarios for SWEAT, such as NFTs, more staking rewards and legal currency trading functions, to deepen user participation and value creation.

"Sweatcoin" user experience and feedback

App evaluation: It has received high user ratings on the Apple App Store and Google Play, indicating that users have a positive attitude towards its incentive mechanism and user experience.

Restrictions and Challenges: Despite its popularity, "Sweatcoin" has regional restrictions, which makes it inconvenient for users in China, the United States and other countries to use it, and its initial daily income is low, which has caused dissatisfaction in some communities.

Community and support: There is an active social media community, including Twitter and Discord, but there are complaints from users regarding token collection issues that need further official resolution.

"Sweatcoin" not only promotes a healthy lifestyle by combining daily exercise with digital currency rewards, but also explores the application of blockchain technology in the incentive economy, becoming a pioneer in the integration of health and blockchain.

It's ok while it works. I haven't had a single step recorded since 23/2 (Thurs). I have the latest version of the app and the app has permission run in the background. Developers have been emailed. Edit (21 June 2024) app has stopped counting steps again, this time on my Samsung A52s 5G. All permissions are granted. It's been working up until today. As I'm not planning to update my phone, I guess I'll just go to a different app and uninstall this one.

this is the second review I'm giving. the first one was a 5 star, but things have changed ever since. the app isn't the updated version anymore(& yes, i checked whether i need to update it again or not)& it's no longer counting my steps accurately. Edit : my battery settings have nothing to do with it. and i already mentioned that i had installed the latest one, then it downgraded on its own & it had no option to update again after that, so i don't know what kinda response is this from Sweatcoin

Today I did 2.5 hours in the gym, including 60 minutes of treadmill. I walked my two dogs for over 2 hours throughout the day. The app shows zero steps. Yes, I have checked the phone settings, after reading the patronising, clearly bot responses by the developer to other users experiencing the same issue. As I only downloaded it a few days ago, it's presumably the latest version.

Its a bad habit. Update 240424 same. Still Uses too much power, causes heating up of phone. Crashes in background.Free offers are mostly a con, not free not accessible or postage is high etc. Trying to go premium. Asks for Google fit access and then still doesn't count the steps, out by a factor of 10x. Adverts are absolutely lies about how PROFITABLE gambling is, shocking. They Spam pop up that take over your phone and they are very dodgy. This is from an app which is a health idea. 🤢.

Hi, I'm extremely disappointed with the recent experience I had with your app. Despite wearing it consistently, the app failed to track my steps accurately. This is a basic feature that I expect to work seamlessly, and it's frustrating to see it not functioning correctly. Please look into this issue and improve the app's performance.

10/27/21 I've been using this app for just over two years, and I love it. It can be a bit slow to load, but that's the biggest issue I've had with it so far. It does take a while to earn any meaningful amount of Sweatcoins, but that's fine, I just forget about the app and check it every few months. My one legitimate complaint is that most of the subscription-type services offered by Sweatcoin are for America only. Overall, great app!

Great, but... The one problem I have with this app is that the store page won't let me do anything with the offers. It just lets me look at them. Everything thing else is amazing though and a way to make it better is to add support to wearables like Garmin watches so you don't have to take your phone with you as I've had experience of loosing my phone because it falls out of a pocket. Tl;dr: app is the best way to make money fast but there are a few bugs still and the app could be better
