I have been using Samsung pay for a few years now and it has been great, they are slowly taking away certain features or reward, and just recently the quick access from home screen stopped working (hope they fix this bug soon), the locked screen quick access still works and the app it self still works. I love that i can use it with magnetic terminals(regular credicard readers with exposed magnetic reader) as well besides NFC terminals. Offline mode with Samsung watch is great.
Used to use this a lot. Once the phone updated to the latest phone update, it is not longer available at the bottom of the screen and swipe up on finger scanner does nothing. The Samsung rewards were never worth it as the points expire before you can actually get anything. No longer using it after using if for a year as a physical card is quicker now.
This app came installed on my phone. I can neither uninstall nor disable it. I have never once used it. But it sometime tries to open itself on its own, for instance while I'm asleep, causing my device to continuously vibrate about twice a second and wake me up. I then have to fight with it to close it and reset my phone or it will do it again. This process also sometimes causes my phone to become unresponsive, resulting in the need for a hard reset. Why can I not remove this app from my phone?
The app is pretty cool and convenient. Really comes in handy and easy to use. My issue comes with the points. I've have been using the app consistently for 2 years and have never even came close to winning any of the "chance to win" I understand it's a game of chance but when the spinner lands on the same color every time, in the same spot it seems suspicious. Also some of the prizes I feel are way to high. Very hard to gain 100k points when you max out at 40 points per transaction. Seems very unrealistic for the average customer
If I could give a lower score I would. Tried to do PIN, and finger print and the same screen kept reloading. No path forward, and after a few repeated attempts, I couldn't even go to the previous screens without backing out of the app entirely. Double checked my app was up to date, and it was. Maybe if it gets fixed I'll try again, but until then I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone.
Samsung Pay has been and is still great. There have been a few times when it seemed to hiccup and was unable to send the info but I'd say 99% of the time it has worked as intended. It's funny when I go to pay with my phone and the cashier is like 'oh, we don't have apple pay' or 'our system can't do that ' and then give me surprised and confused looks when their system says 'payment processed'. I have to explain Samsung Pay a lot.
Its awesome that this works even when places don't support the "phone tap" (nfc). It can actually fake the magnetic strip on the credit card, which feels like magic (at least on Samsung devices). Its cool to have the cashier tell you they dont support apple pay, and then go "hold my beer™️" and get it to work anyway. The only thing I wish is that if the phone is already unlocked, it would be nice to have it pay without having to enter an additional fingerprint, like google pay.
I love my SamPay! It's fast, easy & reliable and I love that I can use it from the lock screen! I've been using it since it's inception & it just keeps getting better wth each update. I never have problems with this App so I dont carry my cards anymore. I've even used it in mom & pops before wth those old cardreaders & it's always sweet satisfaction when the skeptical clerk is shocked that it worked😂! *Note: on the off chance that it doesn't work, click "retry". It ALWAYS works that 2nd time! 😎
App Wasn't Working - Clear Data Fixed the Issue --- I was having trouble opening the app with my fingerprint, and it wouldn't allow me to select the option to enter a PIN. It was very frustrating. I tried restarting my phone, but that didn't work. Then, I found the fix on my Galaxy S21 Ultra. I went into the APP INFO. I clicked on STORAGE. I clicked on CLEAR DATA. Next, I opened the app and logged in. Then, it let me scan my fingerprint. All functions beyond that worked. I hope this is helpful.
I absolutely Love the Samsung Pay app. I use it daily on my phone and my watch. Credit and debits cards can all be added for use on the app. Much more secure than just the card. You get points evertime you use it, and the more you use it the more points you get. Points can be used towards apps, games, wallpapers, watch faces, anything in the Galaxy store. Example (not exact) 200 points will convert to $1. All purchases are emailed to you each time you use it and can be tracked on the app.
