I like the convenience of the app. However, for me it is a struggle to transition from the PC format to the app format. The app format is like looking at a blank slate with no tool bar/tabs for font sizes, styles, paragraph set-ups, spaces, etc. at the top of the screen. I like being able to review my saved word docs, but they appear the spaces to be compress. I feel the more I use the app, I will be able to use and navigate without too much trouble.
Pretty good, solid for keeping proper formatting between the app and the desktop version. The big flaw is navigation. I try to slide horizontally to the end of a sentence and nothing happens on the first three attempts; on the fourth attempt, the vertical scroll control gets activated and suddenly I'm on a completely different page. I try to use the vertical scroll to get back to the bottom of the document, but it only gets to the second to last page. It's extremely annoying. Google docs might not have as easy formatting tools as this app, but it's far easier for navigating the document.
The whole is much less than the sum of the parts. The UI trips over itself. It is difficult just to bring up the onscreen keyboard. It randomly deletes surrounding text when you edit. It has only a small subset of desktop Word's features. It badly needs a navigable table of contents like Google Docs'. It sometimes corrupts its own files, leaving them permanently unusable.
been very great. naturally, i am very much faster at typing with my phone than with my pc, and my hesitancy in using the mobile MSW really wasted a lot of precious time, needlessly so, and especially since as far as academic writing is concerned, the mobile is just as good as the Windows version (with a few exceptions of course e.g. font incompatabilities, less range of file support etc). These deficits in functions are adequately compensated by the functionality of the app. Problem: money.
Word is one of those things that have become life's necessities. In addition the editing of text is much improved and very user friendly. I would request the addition of graphics creation, that is the ability to create things like maps especially for a fantasy writer like myself. It would help so much. It only gets better 😄😄😄😄 However, this requirement to sign in whenever I want to edit my work even offline is a no no. Kindly review this inconveniencing requirement
I love being able to access my documents from the computer on my phone with Microsoft Word. This app worked great when I originally installed it, but since the last update in Feb 2024, both Word and PowerPoint "keep crashing", and I keep getting warnings on my phone to "put them in deep sleep to keep my phone running smoothly". I'm not sure what the problem with these apps are since they updated?
