I've just started as a Medium member. So far, I've found the app annoying in that when I'm reading an article relating to computer coding, I can't rotate the phone to horizontal, which makes reading lines of code much easier. I have to leave the app and go to the webpage for that capability.
Inundated with premium articles, to the point where its hard to find anything else. Even accidentally tapping on an article takes away from your three free articles, or just trying to read the subheader just to find out you're not interested. Not to mention, the recommendations are poorly chosen, and I constantly find myself drowining in articles all by the same single person, just because I read one of their pieces once.
Thanks for restoring the ability to post and edit. Here's a star back. Now please bring back the ability to see recent posts from friends we chose to follow. I noticed it missing from both the app and the main site. I know of many writers on Medium who loved this feature, including me. Not sure why this feature was removed, but I'm sure that correcting yet another rash decision would go a long way towards my perception of this app.
Medium is one of my favorite apps. When the regular news gets boring and repetitive, there's always something interesting that's news related, but not in an in-your-face kind of way on Medium. I also like reading different opinions on current events. It keeps the news on a balance. Keep up the good work, Medium! Always a fan!
That's how I spend my time waiting on lines. The price is salty though, for people living in poor countries, 5$ is way too much. Please set specific prices for countries in South America, like Brazil. I will keep paying but please reconsider it. Also, it would be nice to add suggestions in more than one language. For example, I can speak 3 languages fluently and I would like to receive recommendations written in all of them.
I wasn't used to read articles and all the other apps I'd tried before were so boring. But when I discovered Medium I started reading lot of articles and started to get a lot of relevant articles with minimum effort. I consider that the UX could be better tho. Especially the icons and the navigation. Sometimes I get out of the article accidentally and It's tricky to find it back. Also when I skip a notification from Medium it's difficult to find this article due to the poor searching system
I installed the app a couple of hours ago and it has significantly improved my news consumption experience. The ability to customize the news sources and topics keeps me well-informed without the distractions of social media. The user interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate and select the news that matters to me. It's become my go-to app for staying updated without falling into the rabbit hole of social media distractions. Highly recommend!
