Quite a good app, a bit difficult to put your own routs in. I find the navigation a little hard to follow as it always seems to behind where I am on the road (over shoot the turning!) Also does not easily re-adjust your route if you take a different route, just keeps telling you to do a U turn. Also if you re-load a route you have done before it puts in all the wrong turns you have made on the previous journey! I will be trying some other apps to see if they are any better.
Horrible app experience. Manually adjusting a longer route is just impossible. For example I want to change waypoint 18 to 1. There is no way to change the number manually. So you have to drag. But dragging a number is only possible when it happens in the same screen. Because the screen won't move when you are at the edge. Komoot itself is great. You just need a pc to make your routes. Quickly making/changing a route on your phone becomes a frustrating affair. And now I get errors.
It's a really good app! The map has paths you can't find on Google maps. On occasion it can be outdated and the path is just gone, or you may find that something is private so you can't go there. Route planning can be frustrating sometime. And you can't change navigation while navigating. But all in all, I like it and I use it a lot. I would use it more if it used less battery but my phone's battery is not as good as it was anyways.
Great app allows you to design your own route, and then tells you what you can expect during your walk. Loads of points on the map to choose from too. It would have 5 stars but the woman doesn't shut up! Although she is great at keeping your on your tour so I shouldn't really complain. There's only a couple of purchasing options, from one extreme to the other. You can have the world for £30 or one small area for £5, I would like something in the middle. You do get one free area which is great
A long time user of the app it's sad to see it stagnating. Still good for all the user content but the core functionality hasn't improved much. It's essentially still the same app from 12 years ago with lots of bugs and usability issues in the planner and navigation. Much editorial content and half-baked features can't make up for the neglect of its core features. Good for casual hikers and bikers who pick an existing tour and stick to it. For serious folks it's just too annoying, way too often.
This has always been a brilliant aid but since the latest update it continually crashes and won't let me open my saved maps. My son was relying on this for his Land's End to John O'Groats challenge and is having to find alternative ways to navigate.
DANGEROUS - DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP - We were looking for a good app as beginner hikers to go to the Peak District which is local to us, it gave us a few options and we picked one that was described as "Intermediate, reccomended higher fitness level and sure footing" - Great! Sounds good for our first hike! WRONG - The app took us to the hardest route in the peak district, lied about how long it was, we had to turn back because of bogland, we set out at 8:22am and got home 1:14am UNINSTALL
It has potential but it dings you for every little thing. Maps? Money please. Tracking? Money please. It gives you one free region, but when you go to select it you're only allowed to choose the worldwide maps at a price of $19.99. I haven't had a chance to try it because it won't allow me to download the region I want. Maybe it'll get fixed in the future, but I'm moving on.
It's great for planning routes or accessing routes that others have done. The main downside is that if you're using it for navigation when cycling it doesn't understand the roads. It tells you to turn left just because the road bends left. Sometimes you end up going the wrong way as a result, although it does already you if this happens
Great for planning land outdoor adventures. Overall, a better tool than its closest rival, RideWithGPS as it Komoot provides a better planning engine, better contrast in its maps, and better ride metrics. However, its maps are often hopeless out of date (the 'komoot road' that existed 30 yrs ago), doesn't allow you to name waypoints or create POIs or custom cues. It also doesn't offer a way to pin or star selected routes which a device like a Wahoo can use to limit the list of routes - vital.
