I think Gboard is generally very good... So I'll still give it 5*.... But just to say that the update that installed on my device 09/07/24 produced a big slowdown (Android 10)... I've tried a reboot and no improvement. It's also failing to guess lots of words properly compared to before... I get the impression it suddenly can't keep up with fast glide typing and maybe misses some letters..
BUG! When I use Gboard within any application to translate text, after sending, the text is NOT cleared from the input field. It sends, but then it immediately reappears, and I have to delete it manually before I can enter a new message. This is a huge annoyance, especially if I'm in the middle of live chat. I have to take the time to backspace over every character, or select all and delete. Otherwise, the old text remains and I'm adding to it. Also, please 10X the character limit! Thanks.
Clipboard feature sucks. It only holds 3-4 clips at a time, no matter what the size. And sometimes it misses one, so I have to go back and reclip it or switch to Samsung momentarily. I often have to switch to Samsung keyboard (which has its own PITA issues), bc it doesn't delete clips until I delete them there. Otherwise Google keyboard is just like any other app - you have to learn about its unique quirks.
I've lowered my rating as the latest version does not hold a theme. Very annoying to constantly have to reset. By far the best keyboard out there, though I am holding back one star since lately my color theme is not holding. It is constantly switching back to the white background when I prefer a dark theme. I don't know if this is the latest update and a bug, but it's happening frequently.
Zero stars. You can swipe the same word over and over again and it will not pick it up. Swype(the app) was so much more superior. Gboard is like a frustrating step back in time. This keyboard relies way to much on predictive text which it often gets wrong and doesn't focus enough on actual finger position. I can swipe from the B to the Y and it will type "my" almost every time.
This is very easy to use! And now, I am still using it since last 4 years. There was no problem at all still now!! The emojis are really good. And I can type really fast!! I highly recommend to use this keyboard for any devices! It is also suitable for children (which I am included). It also have a lot of keyboard themes!! You can choose the background that you want to apply!!

I'd recommend flipped out the more "modern" labeling and use of language icons and hyphens , to just a simple 'language' button , that you can press and hold for options. Sometimes with how complex things can get with technology, simplifying it may be better. Also, please give a in depth tutorial for others. You're beyond ease of access.
For Gboard during message, the most favourite function of all is the voice typing. As I'm one of the slow & hate to do typing during conversation. It was fast, easy, convenient, save time, easy to use voice typing! It can use voice typing in English, Chinese(Simplified), Cantonese(Traditional), but for my Xiaomi 11T Pro, voice typing is not so good in these 3 languages, always have wrong words in the sentence i spoke, hence, i got to do correction manually. Gboard could solve these issues? Thks!
Honestly real smart stuff here in terms of language options, preference customizability, and ongoing improvements by the developers. I've learned quite a surprising amount about languages and writing systems just by playing around in the settings, and I'm still continuing to be impressed by how intuitively smooth it all works. I rarely give full 5 stars, but I genuinely think Gboard sets the standard and then some. Quite remarkable for default interface software that comes stock on most Android!
