Files by Google features
Using Google's latest image recognition technology, it can detect unused applications, oversized files, duplicate pictures, low-resolution videos, or emoticons on your phone, and provide personalized cleaning solutions. We have been testing Google File Geek.According to our test results, users save an average of 1GB of storage space in the first month.
No more browsing a maze of folders to find your files. Our smart filters automatically organize your images, videos, apps, documents, and more so you can find exactly what you're looking for.
The Google Files Geek app takes up less than 9MB of space, so it won’t tax your phone’s storage.
You can transfer files directly from your phone to the phones of nearby friends for free.File transfers are encrypted, fast (up to 125 Mbps), and don't consume any data.
You can perform operations such as freeing up storage space and transferring files without using any data traffic.
The progress bar freezes when deleting files from the SD Card. Moving files to a location with existing folders doesn't offer the option to overwrite; instead, it creates new folders with incremented numbers. There's a need for basic 'Move to' or 'Copy to' options for content management. The UI is confusing; there's no sidebar access within 'Internal Storage' or 'SD Card', and no top tab switch when navigating between them.
1. The native video player functions can hardly play videos, that really needs to be developed. 2. When you are scrolling down looking for a file (image, for example), and you open a file to see if it's the one you need, you're sent all the way up when you close the file, meaning you have to start from the beginning again and scroll down all that again; that applies to the Safe Folder too. 3. We're not able to choose the default app for certain files. This applies to the Safe Folder too... 4. +
App has become very slow and not working at times. Images are not loading at all and all folders are being shown as empty. How am I supposed to see them?? Unable to select multiple files to delete at once. At times, even single files are not getting deleted. The app is updated recently, but no use of it. I don't feel like using it at all. It's just like a vestigial app which I cannot even delete from my phone
On my Pixel 7, with only a handful of files in my download folder, it takes up to 10 seconds before the "Downloads" screen is populated. And even more unbelievable is the slow response to removing a file. After removing a file (using the apps own remove button), it takes several seconds before the ui becomes aware of the change, removes the wrong file from the file list, then takes another second or so to rectify that mistake and refresh the list. I expect Google to do better. Much better.
It stopped working correctly. All day it has not shown anything but a gray background. It's like there is nothing there. I can't use the clean up tool because it freezes and I can't permanently delete stuff because it shows nothing Edit: Issue was Randomly resolved. Things started showing up normally. Will keep watch on it and change my review once I am certain that the problem is truly resolved. Thank You.
The 'Clean' feature; It's like having a mini AI assistant in your pocket. You got duplicates, memes, blurry shots clogging up your phone? Bam, 'Clean' swoops in and tosses it out. It's slick, it's intuitive, and man, does it make life easier. The interface is so user-friendly, even my 85 year old grandma could use it. And let me tell you, it's not just about decluttering – it about keeping your most frequently used tool streamlined and efficient.
Keeping it simple, works with no need to be rocket scientist, As with any deleting, you must check, what files & where you're sending chosen files,! &, U never just hit, 'Delete', incase there's vital data, & not just temp cache files in it -. When deleting, it always pays to be cautious. This app has a '2nd chance' confirmation action in the clean-up process. A totally terrific comprehensive File Manager app.
I never have a problem finding all of items on my phone that are removable. I can go in anytime and delete photos, duplicate photos, blurred photos, excetra, screenshots, downloaded files, games whatever. I can clean up my phone by looking at the object thoroughly and decide if I want to keep it or not. I use this app a lot to easily find things on my phone. I recommend it since it doesn't come with ads or interrupting garbage. Four paws up!
I have not been able to access my files neither internally nor on my SD card since this latest update all it does is spin and will do so all day if I let it. Before the update everything was just fine. Edit: I wanted to make sure I said thank you for the fix as I was unable do so via email or in the community response that was posted. It worked perfectly, thank a whole bunch 💐
