A good way to save money on dying houseplants! All of my plants are doing a lot better now that I'm reminded not to neglect them. To improve the app I'd love the be able to see my photos full size - it seems like I can only see a cropped version once I've registered a new plant. It'd also be great to be able to record multiple photos for each plant to track their progress. Maybe a monthly reminder to take a progress photo?
Reinstalled to double check if the free version is obvious and accessible, since developer responded. When you click "Try Free" the Google Pay window pops up and you need to add your CC to access the free version. Sure other apps do that but it's still scammy and bad UX/CX. Seems like a great app but it's only free for 3 days, not enough to gauge if it's worth it. If there IS a free version, they made it super unclear. 3 stars because it looked really nice and minimal
Mixed views. So the app is great, definitely helps me keep my plants alive. However, it's so frustrating that recently the tick boxes to mark I've watered a plant have gone. I have to mess about daily clicking every individual reminder to get it to show the tick box 🤦🏻♀️ if I had the free version I'd accept it, but when I've paid for the premium version I'd expect it to work how it should.
Not Free, The very first thing it tried was to get me to subscribe to a plan for 19.99 monthly. After I kinda jumped around that it did let me search for my plant, and it was dead on accurate to the plant species I took the photo of. We will see where it goes from here, I will update this review. If theres no update then things are the same, still searching, still accurate. :) I won't subscribe with all the knowledge online, why would I?
I was really excited about it until I discovered how much of the apps function is throttled behind a pay wall. I don't keep a payment method on google play, so the free trial is unusable. I also didn't like how it started sending me push notifications to try to pressure me into premium. I ended up switching to a comparable app that didn't have a paywall or annoying notifications.
You can only save two plants to your garden before it tries to force you to subscribe. It also incorrectly identifies every plant I have uploaded so far. The search feature is helpful but only if you already know what the plant is. Which kind of defeats the whole purpose of this app since it's advertised as being able to identify plants. I would give the zero Stars if I could.
I don't mind that it's a paid subscription. However, I would like to: 1) be able to add plants that aren't in the database. Currently I have to pick some other plant and change the custom name. 2) alphabetize or reorganize the "my garden" section. It's super annoying to try and see if I have a plant added, to scroll through 50 things. 3) be able to change the photo. Currently the workaround is to delete the plant from the garden and "look up" the plant using a new photo.
Not worth a subscription! This is a fine app. I really love the ability to keep track of plant care with reminders. I also really like the ability to indentify unknown plants via picture, wish it was more accurate though. The limited list of available plants and varieties is a big problem for me. Either you need to be more diligent about making sure you have every possible known plant and variety in your database or you need to allow for users to add to the database as missing plants are found.
Right after trying this app I subscribed b/c I knew it would be a game changer. I spent several days adding all of my plants and getting them on a schedule. All was great until I downloaded the app onto another device. Unfortunately, the device I'd been using to add all my plants hadn't synced to the server in 3 weeks, so the new device got an old list of my plants and when I synced my main device everything was erased! Developer says they fixed the issue so hopefully it doesn't happen again.
Good, but could use some tweaks. The app mostly identifies plants correctly, but for a new indoor plant enthusiast it's hard to tell because not every variety looks the same. More pictures of varieties need to be added to the "gallery." Also there is no way to change/edit/update reminders. I set most of my watering reminders to the standard, but now I don't need to water that often and I have no way to change that.
