Disgusted! I subscribed to Audible for several months, using my monthly credits to purchase the more expensive titles and buying less expensive titles with cash. I've paid a total of $135 to Audible since October. I decided I no longer wanted to use the service and so ended my subscription. It expressly states you can continue listening to your audiobooks after the subscription expires. Once my subscription ran out, though, the app informed me I would need to re-subscribe to continue listening!
I dont comprehend books when I Visibly read them, my mind tends to drift and think about other things while I can see myself reading and saying the words on the page and ill have to go back and reread it. with audio books I finished the game of thrones series and many other and I know everything that went on it was like a movie in my head I could see the characters talking or fighting, I'm glad I got to experience audible.
I am somewhat new to audiobooks and I am starting to ease in and really enjoy them. This app is perfect and has a wide range of books to choose from in every genre. My only gripe with the app is the bluetooth connectivity issues which, I have read has been ongoing for a long time. I want to be able to seamlessly connect to my bluetooth speaker or headphones and just sit back and enjoy the book!
Love the voices, sound quality and enjoyable experience of listening to my favorite stories. For me it's costly. But for some it may not seem to be too much. One suggestion I wouod love to see added, is reading along with the words being visible as well. Also, consider the ability to add a subtitle over the chapters for orientation when needing to ff or rw.
All the good books aren't available in my country, which is the United States. I am not given the opportunity to filter out unavailable books. Instead, I browse, find something cool, only to realize it's unavailable. And repeat. Can't listen to this, can't listen to that either, nope not that one. What a waste of time. What's worse is that unavailable books are featured boldly to me constantly.
I've been unable to use the app for nearly two weeks. Clearing the cache and uninstalling and restalling the app does not correct the issue. Tech support said they are "aware" & are "working" on it. 😡 Updated April 30: It appears that the latest app update has corrected the issue. I will wait a week or two to see if the fix sticks before removing the one star.
I love this app. I drive for work so it's the best option for me to get some reading done. However, in the past few days, it's just crashed and stayed closed. I've tried updating and uninstalling to no avail. I tried contacting customer service but they just told me to go into the app (which won't stay open) and reset it. How?! Every time I open it, the app just closes and goes back to my phone home screen. But hey I got a credit as compensation for my ordeal, right? 1 star until fixed.
I use it every day and love it! I have relistened to books in my library over the years I've used it. No glitches or issues with the app. I'm an audible member, and the available books included with the membership are of good variety and change with new content all the time. I get notifications when an author I follow has a new audible book available. It gives you suggestions on what to "read" next. I enjoy using the app every day.
I have really enjoyed using Audible. I think being able to sample titles is a great way to decide if you're going to like a particular narrator, which is really important when it comes to audio books. I always listen before bed, so I find the sleep timer really handy. I think overall the app is pretty user-friendly. There are tons of titles across many categories to choose from. Definitely worthwhile!
The update is awful. I have never seen a company announce "here are all the ways our updated app sucks compared to the one you're used to," but that is exactly what Amazon/Audible did when they put out a chart that had all "yesses" for the old app and a bunch of "no's" (not anymore) for features on their new app. Time to break up Amazon. Exit: looks like they learned their lesson. The app has regained its old capabilities.
